Affordable Online Art

A few weeks back, we shared our favorite DFW local sources for art to complete any space in your home. And now, because we're too practical to overlook this, we've pulled together our favorite affordable online art sources. Because sometimes you don't have $500 to spend on a single piece of art for your kid's bathroom, or your own bathroom, or even the dining room. And also, let's be real, sometimes online is best, ESPECIALLY in 2020!

And in the world of online art, there are almost no limits! Why buy online? you ask... The benefits are many! Including but not limited to:

  1. CONVENIENCE - Plain and simple, you just can't beat buying something from the comfort of your couch any day! And another benefit is that you don't have to try to remember exactly what color your throw pillows are, or which shade of blue is in your area rug while you're browsing at a store, because you're right there.

  2. FLEXIBILITY - The awesome thing about many online art sellers is that if you find a print you love, they often will offer it a wide variety of sizes so you can choose the size that's best for you.

  3. VARIETY - Variety really is the spice of life. Online you can find art that is neutral, colorful, abstract, organic, subject art, photography, print on paper, pre-framed, canvas, acrylic prints... you get the point. And not to mention the benefit of the hour, variety in price which leads us to...

  4. AFFORDABILITY - This one is the kicker for many people. Whether you have a healthy art budget, or making an impulse buy that you didn't plan for, EVERYONE loves a good deal! And you can find some great deals online! We're about to prove it to you...

Okay, now here's what you really came for, the list and the beautiful things that could make an appearance on YOUR walls next!

This print shop is a dream. Their art selection is beautiful, and they offer it in both digital files that you can print on your own, OR prints in a variety of sizes including sizes that specifically match the large scale IKEA frames... because they get it. Plus, digital art is always $20, and even the largest large scale prints are under $175!

You know it, and you love it, but we couldn't go without it on our list because we source some of the most unique art pieces and "art-cessories" (it's a word) for many of our projects from Etsy. It's the mother-load of custom and hand made items by independent sellers who love what they do. And as you are already aware, the selection is ENDLESS, and endlessly expanding. Whatever your style, when you're on the hunt for something with a little character to fit your space, you can't really complete your search without stopping by Etsy for a peek!

If you don't already know about this one off the top of your head, you may have seen some of their art at Anthropologie before - so clearly, it's good! This carefully curated shop features work from a number of talented artist, and has been featured in House Beautiful, Vogue, Country Living, Better Homes and Gardens, Domino, InStyle, Apartment Therapy... just to name a few. This is good stuff, but the cost might leave you wondering if it's missing some zeros. Don't worry, it's not - it's just incredibly well-priced for incredible art! You can also shop their "gallery walls" for inspiration and if you buy the set as they're curated it, you get an even better price!

You might know Minted best for it's wedding invitations & websites or custom stationery, but don't miss the fine art, wall murals, children's art, photo art and even the option to have something commissioned from the artist of your choice (starting at only $75, by the way!). And if you're not up for a commissioning, but you want something you're sure to never see anywhere else, check out their limited edition fine art prints. Or simply use their awesome search tools to narrow down the array of art to the style, size, color, and theme to fit your home.

If you're looking for something that will make you and your guests smile (chuckle even) for a price that will also make you smile, look no further than Society 6. The cool thing about this site is that it offers art from hundreds of artists and you can order the art of your choice to be printed on paper, canvas, wood or metal, but also 1,000 other things from throw pillows, to bedding, to cutting boards, shower curtains, and even acrylic trays! So once you find the perfect art, scroll down and you can choose the perfect way to display it!

Sometimes your very own photos are the best personal artistic touch to your home. Whether they're from your favorite vacation, your wedding, or that one time you had a real family photo shoot by a professional, having them printed on high quality canvas or paper and framed for you in a one-stop-shop can help you appreciate and enjoy them more than from a photo album. But if you also love a good photo album, they've got you covered there too!

We hope this handful of online art sources helps you jumpstart your art-hunting process and inspires you when you realize the art of your dreams is within reach!
